Frosty Morning

The dark and short Scottish winter is upon me..... therefore this time my design is a bit austere and gothic in style. This amazing large (2.5x1.5cm) natural Aquamarine nugget looks like a piece of ice with its delicate inclusions. It was beautifuly step-cut polished and it reflects the light with surprising sparkle. The centrepiece was hand shaped, hammered and wrapped with Sterling Silver wire. I added some more natural Aquamarine small faceted rounds for even stronger impression of ice and winter and you can also find them weaved in the chain and in the hand made clasp. Two blue Apatite faceted rounds are like the short moments in a day when one can see a glipmse of clear sky. The piece was heavily oxidised and then delicately hand sanded and polished for cold and rough look. The centrepiece measures 6.5cm/2.5" The chain is 46cm/18.5" long and can be adjusted up to56cm/22"
